Mobs

Every spawnable mob of your server version already works. mobs.yml only exists to change something about one.

Defaults

Applied to any mob you do not list.

mobs.yml
defaults: enabled: true permission: "" delay: 200 min-delay: 200 max-delay: 800 count: 4 max-nearby: 6 player-range: 16 spawn-range: 4 tier: 1 max-per-player: 0 icon: SPAWNER
KeyDefaultWhat it does
enabledtrueWhether unlisted mobs can be used at all
permissionemptyNode needed for an unlisted mob. %mob% becomes the lowercase name
delay200Ticks before the first spawn after placing
min-delay / max-delay200 / 800Random delay between cycles
count4Mobs produced per cycle
max-nearby6The spawner stops while this many of its mob are nearby
player-range16A player must be within this many blocks
spawn-range4Radius the mobs appear in
tier1Cosmetic rank shown in /aquavirtual mobs
max-per-player0How many of one mob a player may own. 0 is unlimited
iconSPAWNERMaterial used in the menu

Delays are in ticks. 20 ticks is one second.

Setting permission: "aquavirtual.mob.%mob%" in defaults locks every unlisted mob behind its own node at once, without writing a block per mob.

Disabled

mobs.yml
disabled: - ENDER_DRAGON - WITHER - WARDEN - ELDER_GUARDIAN

Mobs nobody can use even though the server can spawn them. Remove one to allow it. The defaults also block giants, illusioners, ravagers, evokers, piglin brutes, wither skeletons, endermen, villagers, wandering traders, iron golems and snow golems.

Overrides

Anything you leave out falls back to defaults.

mobs.yml
mobs: BLAZE: display: "&#FFA42DBlaze" permission: "aquavirtual.mob.blaze" tier: 3 min-delay: 400 max-delay: 900 count: 3 max-nearby: 4 max-per-player: 2

display is the only key that does not exist in defaults. It is the name shown everywhere, colours included.

Tiers

tier is cosmetic. It groups mobs in /aquavirtual mobs so players can see at a glance which ones are the good ones. The shipped catalog runs from tier 1 for zombies and cows up to tier 4 for guardians.

Levels

The values here are the level 1 numbers. /aquavirtual setlevel scales them with the multipliers in config.yml:

At level nBecomes
Delaydelay × level-delay-multiplier ^ (n - 1)
Countcount + level-count-bonus × (n - 1)
Max nearbymax-nearby + level-nearby-bonus × (n - 1)

So with the defaults a level 3 blaze spawner runs at 400 × 0.85² ticks, produces 5 per cycle and tolerates 8 nearby.
